Wanderlust Chronicles Review of The Hotel Brussels
On our recent visit to Brussels we stayed at The Hotel Brussels, a modern and affordable choice for this relatively expensive European city. The minimalistic and clean rooms feature amazing sky high views over the city and are fully functional, with electronic blackout curtains and wifi connectivity throughout the hotel. The modern style and décor of the rooms was a standout, and we loved how the room was bathed in bright natural light from the large window in the room, making it super handy to overcome jet lag on our first day. The room also featured a beautiful full-length seat under the window, allowing for lazy breaks as we overlooked the cityscape. So overall we really loved the modern feel of the room and little bits of luxury that were unexpected of a 4 star hotel. A little note though, some of the room types have open plan showers which allow little privacy and therefore you should check with the hotel if this needs to be avoided.
Location wise, The Hotel is very convenient for the shopaholic and mobile tourist at heart. The Hotel is located on the most popular shopping street in Brussels and is close to a subway station making it super easy to explore the city on a budget. An easy 10 minute walk will have you in the bustling Grote Markt tourist Area. The walk leads you through beautiful old neighbourhoods like our favourite, Sablon, where you can find many famous chocolatiers (see chocolate blog post) and antique stores, plus the elegant style of the architecture in the neighbourhoods and cute little shops will have you stopping for pictures and to make purchases along the way. It was a great way to see a bit more of the city with a main goal, to reach the Grote Markt, in mind. Overall, we felt that The Hotel Brussels was great value, clean and modern with a luxurious feel, and in a great location for walking and exploring the city.
