Wanderlust Chronicles’ Top 8 Must-Sees in Budapest.

Budapest

  1. The famous Hungarian Parliament Building

This beautiful architectural gem is stunning at all times of the day. It is best viewed from the opposite banks of the Danube or aboard a river cruise. For those who want to tour inside this beauty, see the site below for the tour schedule.

  1. The views of Pest from The Fisherman’s Bation

This is probably one of our favourite spots to get a bird’s eye view of this stunningly pretty city. The cute castle like style of the Bation also makes it a landmark in itself so make the trip up because it’s definitely worth it. We recommend getting here early in Summer, as it can get very busy by the time the tours get here.

  1. Walk across the Chain Bridge

Europeans love to stroll this bridge that allows Buda to meet Pest. A walk-able city is always better in our eyes, so take advantage of the easy stroll along this charming bridge and take in as much of the city as you can.

  1. Grab some Hungarian food at The Central Market

Langos. Need we say more? Don’t forget to head on over to The Central Market for a feast for the senses and the stomach. Get your fill on paprika themed souvenirs and tasty Hungarian delicacies like Langos and the HUGE Pork Knuckles.

  1. Visit one of the many baths

Although we didn’t have time to visit one on our last trip, everyone we have met has said to visit one of Budapest’s famous bath houses for a unique and relaxing spa experience. This one is definitely next on our bucket list!

  1. Take a night cruise along the Danube

This city is even prettier at night than it is during the day. We recommend spending a little extra money on a night cruise, as you will get the reward of viewing this city in its true grandeur.

  1. Be reminded of history at The Shoes on The Danube Bank Memorial

Before you visit this sobering memorial, read about its history here. This memorial is well worth a visit and a minute’s silence in respect for the many lives lost on these banks.

  1. Shop until you drop at Vaci Street

This pedestrian street at the heart of all the actions provides die-hard shoppers and tourists looking for some souvenirs with their fix. It’s also a great place to grab a bite to eat in between the shopping adventures.

STAY || Buddha Bar Hotel Budapest

Our favourite hotel chain in Central Europe is the Buddha Bar Boutique chain. With an eclectic Asian fusion vibe, modern and clean interiors, and some of the best locations in Prague and Budapest, Buddha Bar Hotel’s always win out.
