All the Skopje Instagram Spots you need to visit
Macedonia is like a second home to us after spending so much time with our newly found Macedonian family for the past two years. Skopje is the capital of Macedonia and this charming city is the perfect place to introduce yourself to Macedonian culture. This naturally beautiful country is one of our favourite countries in all of Europe thanks to its welcoming locals, affordable prices, and untouched nature. We recommend visiting Skopje and Ohrid if you have the chance to make it to Macedonia in the future. Also, with budget airlines like Wizz Air, a long weekend trip to Skopje is the perfect excuse to visit Macedonia. 11:00 | SEE: MEMORIAL HOUSE OF MOTHER TERESA
Located in the heart of the city, once stood the ‘Scared Heart of Jesus chapel’ where Mother Teresa was baptized after she was born in Skopje. Now stands the museum dedicated to her life and herwonderful work. Each year the memorial house celebrates her recent
canonization where she is now known as Saint Teresa of Calcutta.

12:00 | SEE: VODNO MOUNTAIN
From the city center head up to Vodno Moutain via either a cheap €5 taxi ride or take a ride on the red double decker bus for €0.60 which takes around 30 minutes. To reach the top of the mountain, there is a cable car ride. For the people who have more time, there are plenty of hiking trails ranging from easy to difficult that will lead to the peak. Once you reach the top admire the breathtaking views of Skopje and its countryside and the infamous 67m Millennium Cross.
This is definitely an Instaworthy moment.

13:00 | SAVOUR: MACEDONIAN ETHNO VILLAGE
Vreme za ruČek! Time to eat, this is what the locals will say when its lunchtime. Head to the popular Ethno Village located 5 km from Vodno Moutain and sample traditional cuisine. We recommend the turli tava, stuff peppers and the scrumptious pljeskavica with a side of ajvar.

15:00 | SEE: OLD BAZAAR
After lunch, it’s time for some shopping! Head to the Old Bazaar located in the city center. The bazaar has everything you need from traditional handmade costumes to exotic gold jewellery. Take your time and explore each store.
16:00 | SAVOUR/SIP: OLD BAZAAR
Needing a break from all that shopping? Head to one of the many sweet stores located within the bazaar. Order a traditional Turkish coffee and why not add a piece of tulumbi or two.
17:00 | SEE: STONE BRIDGE AND SKOPJE FORTRESS
On the way out of the Turkish bazaar, cross the famous Stone Bridge. This bridge connects the old and new parts of Skopje and is one of the rare Ottoman sites left after the difficulties the city has faced. After you take a few Instaworthy pics head to Skopje Fortress to watch the sun set over the city.

It’s time to wine and dine. Skopski Merak, famous for their oven baked pastrmajlija and meat roasts, is the perfert place for a traditional meal. Make sure you ask the waiter for the local wines list.

With a stunning view from the outdoor terrace to the amazing cocktails, it’s understandable why LOFT bar is THE place to be. Sip on one of their many drinks and listen to the live bands playing.
