The Wanderlust Chronicles review of the QT Gold Coast.
Add one pinch of a pin-up girl, a dash of clean lines, a sprinkle of Gold Coast sunshine and a garnish of retro glamour, and you have yourself a much needed addition to Gold Coast’s glitter strip, QT Gold Coast. After a short drive from Brisbane, a cute, old-school lemonade stand welcomed us into the hotel with icy tumblers of fresh lemonade and lemon tea. The friendly front desk staff welcomed us to the hotel and we were whisked off to a sky-high room overlooking the ocean.
Clean lines and a chic, white pallet, give the rooms at QT a timeless feel with an injection of retro glam from feature elements in the room, including a gold pineapple, light-up cockatoo, and punches of black and white to break the colour scheme up.
The cute mesh bags of beach essentials, like rubber thongs and beach towels, also came in handy when we were ready to hit the beach. After settling in, we headed to the Stingray Bar & Lounge, for a much needed welcome drink. The bar exudes Californian cool in a modern industrial environment. We sipped on watermelon and cucumber caipirinha and skinny mojitos, as the cool crowd of Surfers Paradise descended upon this mecca. And as the hours passed, the cocktails kept coming, and the crowd grew stronger, we knew that we had chosen the right location for a fun weekend escape.
