Vatican Museums Review | Rome, Italy

DSC01594

Touted as the smallest yet richest city in the world, the Vatican city is a mere dot on the map of Rome, yet it is home to some of the world’s most expensive relics. Vatican city is a marvel of a place to explore but with its estimated 20,000 visitors per day to the Sistine Chapel alone, it is no wonder that this pilgrimage site for Catholics and tourists alike is  worth its title of bustling metropolis.
WC visited during the less busy season of Winter but were still faced with crowds of tourists. We definitely recommend joining a tour by prebooking on the website to avoid the large queues to get into the Vatican museums and St Peters Basilica. We also recommend waiting until the end of the tour to buy your souvenirs in the shop before entering the basilica as it is run by the cutest nuns in Rome!
Safe travels and happy exploring!
