Andaz Maui Review

DSC_0740

On our recent trip to Maui, we were eager to try the latest offerings on Hawaii’s hotel scene. Having learnt that the Andaz Maui was one of the Hyatt Chain’s latest offerings, was labeled as Maui’s chicest new resort, and had made Conde Nast Traveler’s ‘hot list’ in 2014, we knew that we had to try it out for ourselves.
Location
Situated on a 15-acre beachfront paradise, nestled within the world-famous, five star resort area of Wailea, the Andaz Maui is positioned perfectly. A pleasant 5 minute walk in the balmy heat will get you to the Shops at Wailea, only if you can tear yourself away from all that this resort has to offer.
Guest Rooms
David Rockwell and his Rockwell Group Designers are known for their world-class designs for a reason, and the Andaz Maui is a prime example of his exciting and timeless architectural designs. Each bright and airy room allows the stunning beach backdrop into the room and the chic, minimalistic pallet is soothing after a hard day of rest and relaxation. All in-house guests are also treated to complimentary non-alcoholic mini bar beverages and snacks to complete your in room experience.
Facilities
Our favourite part of the resort was the swimming pool terraces.  Four staggered levels of swimming pools, featuring cascading waterfall walls, were a hit with all guests, including us. Plus, each level had a great view of the ocean to maximize that resort feeling. If that weren’t enough, the Andaz also features an adult’s only relaxation pool, gym, spa, business center and outdoor beach activities. Plus the service was outstanding as the staff were always willing to go above and beyond to help you and always did so with a smile.
Dining
The resort features numerous dining options to ensure that you don’t need to leave the resort unless it’s absolutely necessary! Ka’ana kitchen serves up a killer buffet breakfast and locally sourced and authentic food from Maui. For a daytime casual bite or a late night cocktail, both Bumbye Beach Bar and Lehua Lounge serve up some of the finest cocktails in Maui. The Mokapu Market is open 24 hours to ensure that you have access to snacks, meals, and island necessities at all hours of the day. Plus, the Andaz is home to the famed Morimoto Restaurant where you can sample some of Masaharu Morimoto’s dishes first hand. Also, upon arrival to the hotel, each guest is given a signature Andaz Maui water bottle, which you are able to fill at the fresh water dispenser located on most levels, and with the 24 hour in-room dining menu, it means that you never have to leave your room if you don’t want to!
The Wanderlust Chronicles Verdict
The Andaz Maui is our new favourite resort destination. With friendly service, impeccable design, and world-class facilities, the Andaz has ticked all the boxes for a five-star resort. Our short two-night stay was not enough to experience all that this amazing resort had to offer so we will definitely be returning soon!
